 Telluride Mountain Guides, established in 1984, is the longest standing guide service in Telluride, Colorado. Over the years, TMG has evolved into a team of dedicated professionals who are drawn to the awe inspiring terrain surrounding town. We live and breathe the San Juan Mountains. This intimate, local based knowledge offers a unique portal for adventure.

  • Canyoneering, Rock Climbing and Petroglyph Tour

    A beautiful day of desert adventure! After a short 4x4 drive from Camp V, drop into a slot canyon enjoying the deep folds and fissures of red rock country. The first canyon leads to an ancient rock art petroglyph panel. We’ll take a lunch break and enjoy this outdoor museum of natural history. After lunch, climb up another canyon fork and take on a few pitches of rock climbing. Beginner to advanced options here. Top out on the rim to complete a 4 mile loop.

    This trip is appropriate for beginners to advanced hikers and can be condensed into a half day or broadened to a full day. We can add or omit rock climbing. All technical gear is included.

  • Intro to Rock Climbing

    This half or full day adventure is perfect for beginners to intermediate rock climbers. Our patient and mellow guides will help you build a solid foundation of skills and technique, while you enjoy stunning views and the thrill of scaling sandstone cliffs.

    This trip can be condensed or broadened for half and full day adventure. All technical gear is included.

  • Desert Tower Rock Climbing

    This multi-pitch rock climbing trip is appropriate for adventurous beginners up to advanced rock climbers. Desert solitude, big views and big fun! Your guide will lead each pitch, while you follow on top rope. This provides a secure and safe way to step out into the excitement of climbing a freestanding desert monolith.

    All technical gear is included.

  • Ancient Rock Art Half Day Hiking Tour

    After a short 4x4 drive from Camp V, enjoy a canyon hike to an awe inspiring rock art petroglyph panel. Continue on a trail used by indigenous paleo hunters, past many more boulders and panels with mystifying petroglyphs.

    This trip is appropriate for hikers with a curiosity for indigenous history and culture.
